Gollancz Emporium FAQs

Order Support

Where do you deliver to?

We're pleased to deliver to book lovers across the world. However, due to rights restrictions, each book may have geographic limitations and we may not be able to ship certain products to select countries.

These restrictions are shown on individual product pages, so please review them carefully before ordering.

How long does delivery take?

Delivery time varies based on your location:

  • United Kingdom: 3–5 working days via tracked service
  • Europe: Up to 21 days
  • Rest of World: Up to 28 days

For full details, please see our delivery page.

Pre-orders: If you're pre-ordering a book ahead of publication, it won't ship until publication week. Check the 'anticipated publication date' on the product page. We'll notify you if the publication date changes.

Can I amend an order or shipping address?

Unfortunately, we cannot make amendments to orders or shipping details once submitted.

If your item hasn't shipped yet, you may be able to cancel from your account area or by contacting support@gollancz.co.uk. You can then place a new order, subject to availability.

Does the price cover all import costs for international customers?

International customers may be liable for additional import or customs fees, depending on local laws and regulations. These are payable directly by you upon receipt of the items.

How do I cancel an order or return an item?

You can cancel an order or return items in accordance with our terms of service. Please contact support@gollancz.co.uk in the first instance.

Are your special or limited editions authenticated?

Product listings will detail if an item comes with a certificate of authenticity or similar documentation. Please keep any authentication documents safe as we cannot replace certificates that are lost or damaged.

Are your special or limited editions signed?

Many of our special editions are signed, but not all. If an edition is signed, this will be clearly stated on the product page.

Are your books new or vintage/antiques?

We only sell new books published by Gollancz.

Do you sell ebooks or audiobooks?

No, we currently only sell physical editions of our books.

Are items in my cart reserved for me?

Items in your cart are not reserved. Please complete your purchase promptly to avoid disappointment where stock is limited.

Why has an order I placed been cancelled?

On rare occasions, we may need to cancel orders in line with our terms of service. One reason might be a title going out of stock due to high demand. In these scenarios, orders are fulfilled in the order they were placed, and any orders we can't fulfil will be refunded.

General Queries

How do I request a review copy?

Join our dedicated influencer community. Through our monthly emails, you'll hear about new releases first, request review copies, gain exclusive pre-release event tickets, and more.

I've written a book – how can I get it published by Gollancz?

Congratulations on becoming a writer! While we're always looking for new authors and stories, due to submission volume our editorial team currently only accepts new projects via literary agents.

Many fantastic agents specialise in sci-fi, fantasy, horror and the other fiction we publish. The Writers and Artists Yearbook is a good starting point, or try researching which agents represent books similar to yours. Good luck!

I have a question about rights or permissions for one of your books

For enquiries about publishing rights in different territories, languages, or formats, or for film/TV-related queries, please email rights.enquiries@orionbooks.co.uk

I'd like to invite a Gollancz author to an event or media appearance

For press or event queries, please email publicity.enquiries@orionbooks.co.uk in the first instance. They'll redirect you to the best contact to help.
